Dinner at the Farm

The dinner held on June 26,
was a wonderful delicious success, enjoyed by all.

A fabulous dining experience on our family's 105 year old fruit orchard in the agricultural rich Foothills of Placer County. Founded in 1912 by Yoshiko and Tomeo Nakae, Twin Peaks Orchards history of farming legacy in Newcastle, CA is continued to this day by the 4th and 5th generation.

The evening included dishes prepared with local, seasonal ingredients from our farm as well as other Placer Grown family farms. Guests enjoyed cocktails and small bites in the shade of the original family house, while mingling with other guests and neighbors.

Dinner was served in our historic packing shed, which is still used for hand packing and sorting our fruit daily throughout the season.

Five carefully prepared courses were wine paired. Interactive preparation of dishes included the guests in the creative experience.

The chefs included some of Sacramento and Placer Counties finest, all with a dedication and commitment to the preservation of small family farming:

  • Chris Barnum of Localis, Sacramento
  • Tyler Bond of Kru Sacramnto, Dirty Feet Dining, and Freaks of the Industry
  • Eric Alexander of Carpe Vino, Auburn
  • Misty Olsen Greene of Hawks Restaurant, Granite Bay and Hawks Public House and Provisions, Sacramento
  • Paul Rodriguez of Fishface Sacramento, Freaks of the Industry
